Principal’s Message

Dr. Justin Gann, Principal

My name is Dr. Justin Gann and I am the Principal of Edison High School.  I am excited and humbled to be a part of the E-House family.  I have been serving the students and community of Stockton Unified for over 12 years, and look forward to many more years of service ahead.  

My vision for Edison High School is to create a welcoming environment that fosters a strong sense of community, where faculty, students, and their families feel valued and included. We will utilize the AVID and PLC frameworks to drive rigorous academic programs and provide dedicated support, and we will strive to empower our students to achieve their highest potential and excel in their educational journey. We will prioritize their safety, ensuring a secure and nurturing atmosphere where students can freely express themselves, explore their interests, and develop meaningful connections with peers and staff. By nurturing an inclusive and supportive culture, we aim to create a positive and inspiring educational experience that prepares our students for a successful future.  

I am looking forward to continuous service of our Edison community alongside our amazing faculty.  If you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Edison High School Community,

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year!  As the Principal of Edison High School, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all our students, families, and community members.  I hope you had a rejuvenating summer break and are as excited as I am to embark on another incredible academic year filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and success.

Our mission at Edison is to deliver challenging and meaningful instruction within programs that are designed to prepare all students for a variety of post-secondary opportunities.  This year, we are placing a strong emphasis on student attendance.  Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success, and we are dedicated to working with students and families to ensure every student is present, on time, and ready to learn each day.

We are proud to offer a diverse range of programs designed to inspire and challenge our students:

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination): This program continues to prepare students for college readiness and success in a global society.
Athletics: Our sports teams are ready for an exciting year of competition, teamwork, and school spirit.
Music and Arts: From our talented musicians to our creative artists, actors, and actresses, we encourage all students to express themselves and explore their passions.
Career Technical Education (CTE): Providing hands-on experience and skills in various fields to prepare students for successful careers.
Dual Enrollment with Delta College: This program allows students to earn college credits while still in high school, giving them a head start on their higher education journey.
Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors Coursework: Our AP and Honors courses offer students the opportunity for rigorous academic challenges and to further the development of critical thinking skills.
Our dedicated teachers and staff are here to support each student's academic journey, and we encourage all students to take advantage of the resources and opportunities available.  Whether you are pursuing excellence in academics, athletics, arts, or any of our specialized programs, your commitment and hard work will pave the way for a successful future.

Meet Your Edison High School Assistant Principals

Get to know the Edison High School Assistant Principals — dedicated leaders who support students and staff, promote a positive school environment, and help all Edison Vikings succeed.

  • My name is Brandon Duncan and I have the privilege of serving as an Assistant Principal at Edison High School.  I look forward to working with the staff, students, and the community to make this a great school year.

    I have spent the past seven years as a 4th grade teacher at Dolores Huerta Elementary School.  I have been teaching in the district for ten years.  I am a graduate of the University of the Pacific and Southern New Hampshire University, where I earned my degree in Athletic Training and Sports Management respectively.  I also completed my Administrative credential at Teacher’s College of San Joaquin.

    My goal is to build relationships with all students, so that I can provide support to help them achieve all of their goals. I am here to help in any way I can and communication is most important, so I can help address any concerns. I look forward to meeting all of the E-HOUSE community that I am not already familiar with, and helping to continue to make Edison the best possible school it can be.

  • My name is Anthony DeAngelo and it is an honor to be serving as an Assistant Principal here at Edison High School.  I graduated from Fresno State where I received a BA in History and completed my MS in Educational Administration with National University. 

    This is my 12th year with Stockton Unified and my 6th year as an administrator.   In my capacity as teacher, I had the pleasure of working at Franklin High School, Commodore Stockton Skills, and Pacific Law Academy.  As an administrator, I have served at San Joaquin Elementary and Chavez High School.  

    My vision for Edison High School is to aid students in opening doors to “unrealized” opportunities.  This begins with cultivating a nurturing environment where students feel safe, valued, and included.  We will set high academic standards with appropriate support and interventions to ensure ALL students meet their academic goals. This will be accomplished through the use of our AVID programming and the PLC process.  I will work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community partners to support students through their academic endeavors.  Together we will continue the storied tradition of academic, social, athletic, and extracurricular excellence that is synonymous with Edison High School.

  • My name is Maribel Palacios and I am excited to join the Stockton Unified School District as the Assistant Principal at Edison High School. It will be a privilege to have the opportunity to work along all the hundreds of staff, thousands of students, and thousands of community members and providers to make this next school year the best yet to come. 

    I have had the opportunity to start my career in the community as a case manager for the Stanislaus county, assessing, monitoring the needs of our families and connecting them to community providers that can meet families where they are at, and become successful in their personal lives. I transferred my case management skill and worked at Merced Union High School District as a counselor for five years, then pursued my administrative credential. This will be my 4th year as an administrator. Something that has kept me saine has been my passion and love is music. I am a musician and have been for the past almost 29 years. I enjoy playing with musicians as it is a universal language that can be picked up anywhere in the world. I have continued playing music with the Modesto Junior College Community Band and will until I cannot anymore. You can catch me playing out in the music community; keep your eyes and ears open. 

    My vision for Edison High School is to build a nurturing community where everyone feels comfortable and supported to explore and try new things. This includes staff, students, and community members. It is important that we learn how to understand each other and realize that we are all more similar than we are different. We all have different fortes, and sometimes it takes a little inspiration, trial and error to find out what our gift is. I became an administrator to be the advocate for everyone's needs, and although it is not an easy task, it is a pleasure to be able to support and encourage as many staff as possible. By being able to take care of our staff, they are able to take care of our students, so it becomes a win-win situation. I look forward to working with the E-House community so that together we can help our students become successful community leaders.
